A lot of work lately

But above the work, I began to feel tired of my job... or better say, some conditions in the office. But, It's december, the best month of the year and is time for some personal projects! first, the sketches are for a game idea, I hope I can bring to light soon. The last 2 are for a story =D

(I know I blog this beaver before but is part of the game idea =P )

This one actualy came from an random generator that spawn me two animals: bettle and squid 

This one is the main character of the story, his name is Zykhu and is the banished "black prince" (I know, not that original, but the argument of what happen surround his exile is a little better =P )

This start as a speedpaint for a group on facebook, but I decide to go full render. I really enjoy painting this, to apply and learn new things while painting.

Hide and seek

Still with furry, I bought the Wow ultimate visual guide, a lot to see and a lot to read, very inspiring too. For variety I will do some pinup girls, mech and fantasy orcs. See you soon!

Practices with reference

This was a sunday of "painting all day" with references. Practice practice practice. I put them in the order I worked, and I'm pretty happy with the last one.

I have this thing... I like to draw while in the bus =) just draw faces and things I see. This are from today. Is a recycled paper called cappuccino, and the pentel art pen

Jaeger dream

Quick sketch! Normaly I can't remember what I dream, but last night I was piloting this thing and it was awesome! I can't remember too much detail, but was white and very bright even in the night  =D

Mega man!

I love mega man games and his music, so kicking off my fan art season is the best remember I had from my childhood (in game stuff).

And this is the layers I use, I find myself pretty comfortable with this painting/render process.

Desu Orc

I felt like testing a "render" type of painting. It was only a quick test, but then I get caught between the lines. Hope you like it! =)

First the line art, but in a frontal occlusion style (after I set the layer to 75% opacity)

Then the basic light (and set to 75% opacity)

The colour (or diffuse) was meant to haven't any lighting, but I just was out of control D:

Ambient light are two layers, one is an overlay to give volume. The other one is a light orange hard light on top of everything, over the left arm and shoulder. Oh! and a extra layer to the freckles in the arm and back (those who has to be in the diffuse layer)

 Then add details, like blood, and war paint, and a layer for a rim light.

The Horsemen

This drawing came from a challenge of the 4 horsemen of apocalypse. All the ink came from pentel artpen, on a strathmore sketchbook  =)  cheers!

Infected Zombie

Aloha!. I been busy. But I need to step back the monitor and start to painting with watercolor and acrilycs again. This is my first try. Acrilycs, about 2 hrs.

well... this is a start. The first is a fairy I made in 2005, it was one of the first illustrations I ever did with a tablet. The second I sketch in 2011, but I painted and finished today. Hope you like it  =)
